The team “Biogeography and ecology of vertebrates” (co-supervision CNRS-EPHE) at the Center of functional and evolutionary ecology (CEFE) in Montpellier (France) is involved in biological conservation of vertebrates species, particularly those with high heritage value, rare or threatened.
Researches are organized in three main axis :
- the species response to landscape changes either from anthropogenic or natural pressures
- Mediterranean species phylo and biogeography
- the evaluation of monitoring, modeling and conservation/management practices.
Most of these activities are developed thanks to cooperation with biodiversity and protected areas organizations and environmental legislation (State, Regional, NGOs, etc.).
